Saturday, August 10th, 2024, marked a milestone for Lilongwe Water Board (LWB) as it hosted its first-ever team building and sports day at the Bingu National Stadium. The event brought together staff members from various departments and Zones, fostering unity and teamwork.

The day was filled with exciting activities, including aerobics, football, netball, volleyball, tug of war, sack races, relay races, and various sports tournaments.

Guest of honor, Board Chairperson Inkosi Ya Makhosi M’mbelwa V, praised the management and staff for the initiative and emphasized the importance of making this event an annual tradition. “This is a great way to strengthen relationships among staff members, leading increased to productivity and a harmonious work environment,” he noted.

The event’s success demonstrates Lilongwe Water Board’s commitment to employee welfare and teamwork. As the staff celebrated their camaraderie, they also looked forward to implementing the lessons learned on the field into their daily work.

The Football and Netball competitions were won by the Northern Zone teams while the Head Office team was the overall winner after leading in most of the other categories
