This past week, Lilongwe Water Board’s Southern and Central Zones organized customer engagement meetings with Ward Councillors, Chiefs, and Community Members in their supply areas. These meetings were held at Khumbila L.E.A. School in the Southern Zone and Tayamba Private School in the Central Zone. As a customer-focused utility, LWB organized the meetings to ensure it gets feedback from its customers to improve its service delivery and maximize customer satisfaction.

The presentations from the Board included how it is working to reduce non-revenue water, as this remains one of the biggest challenges that LWB faces in its service delivery. The Board further urged customers to maximize usage of the toll-free line 253 to report illegal connections (water theft), pipe bursts and any faults.

The Ward Councillors and Chiefs commended LWB for its excellent service delivery and continued community engagement, which has helped the communities understand water issues and get easy assistance. They further committed to ensuring they beef up security in their areas Chiefs also promised to help in ensuring a low number of illegal connections and water theft. The community leaders also implored their subjects to work together with the Board’s staff to achieve a common goal.

Lilongwe Water Board remains committed to maximizing customer satisfaction in its work delivery and it will continue to engage the communities as they are key in its work delivery.
