High pipe leakage rate because of a high percentage of old distribution pipes, inaccurate water meters, and high occurrence of illegal connections, are the major causes of water losses faced by LWB.LiSCaP (Project for Strengthening the Capacity of Non-Revenue Water Reduction for Lilongwe Water Board) has been designed to enhance capacity for NRW reduction management for the LWB, and ultimately reduce non-revenue water as well as improve the efficiency of water use in the city of Lilongwe.Additional Activities for COVID-19 Countermeasures Considering the impact of Covid-19 on the project’s activities as well as overall LWB’s operations, in addition to the activities in the Project PDM, the LiSCaP is providing support to LWB in the development of operational countermeasures against the pandemic.
